The fact that Spain and Belgium are sharing chairmanship of the EU in 2010 makes it interesting to exhibit appealing artists from these two countries. As a result, Den Haag Sculptuur will be a unique, European cultural manifestation.
World famous
As a world famous artist, Manolo Valdés (Spain) has vast knowledge of and interest in art history and this can be clearly seen within his work. Experiences from everyday life, however, form an important aspect of the work by young Belgian Kim de Ruysscher.
Hunt
A lesson pack has been developed for interested primary and secondary schools in the Netherlands and schools from deprived areas, in particular, will receive extra attention. Den Haag Sculptuur will provide them with transport, tours, a hand-out and a memento. The information counter will also be inviting all children to take part in a ‘treasure’ hunt and they can also participate in the photographic competition.
Pulchri Studio
In addition to the enormous, monumental works on the Voorhout, smaller scale sculptures can also be seen in several exhibition rooms at Pulchri Studio (Lange Voorhout 15). Here, you can also find further information about the artist and their work. The sculptures on Lange Voorhout can be seen day and night. The Pulchri Studio is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11.00 - 17.00.
