The second Nacht van de Vluchteling (Refugee Night) is devoted to the backpack doctors in Burma, who provide immediate medical care for Burmese refugees. The participants are going on a 40-kilometre walk, from Rotterdam to The Hague, either individually or as a team. They are being sponsored to raise as much money as possible for Stichting Vluchteling (the Refugee Foundation).
Jan Douwe Kroeske
Programme maker Jan Douwe Kroeske will be accompanying them on Refugee Night; he is currently visiting the backpack doctors on the border between Burma and Thailand. As well as Jan Douwe Kroeske, musicians, journalists, athletes, and other people involved in the project will also be taking part in Refugee Night. En route they’ll be providing a special programme of night-time events. From the Erasmusbrug in Rotterdam, the walkers will go via the Kralingse Plas, Pijnacker-Nootdorp and Rijswijk to The Hague.
Come to Refugee Night, come to The Hague Festivals!
