Echo & The Bunnymen a 'no go'; Vive La Fête new headliner!

New Wave Brits cancel The Hague show
Echo & The Bunnymen have cancelled their The Hague/PopHotSpot-concert. The exact reasons for the cancellation remain unclear. The organisation of the PopHotSpot deeply regrets the withdrawal of Echo, but have booked ‘Belgium’s most sexy couple’ Vive La Fête to take their spot on the ‘grand finale’, Friday june 26. Vive La Fête will be presenting their new ‘Disque d’Or’ album. As ‘special guests’ of Echo unfortunately the concert of Moke has also been cancelled. For this the organisation are still looking for a suitable replacement. The concert series at the PopHotSpot in the centre of The Hague starts at Friday June 12 and goes through till Saturday June 27 and will feature artists from the likes of Trafassi, Drive Like Maria, The Opposites, Declan de Barra, Samba Soul ft. Lillian Vieira, Lady Linn, Def P & The Beatbusters, Antwerp Gipsy Ska Orchestra, Nomy Rosenberg, Kraak & Smaak, Mala Vita, Ella Bandita, Polar Exploration Ship and Danakil. All shows are in open air and free to visit.

A party for everyone!
The Flemish duo Vive La Fête - Danny Mommens (ex-dEUS) and Els Pynoo - first introduced themselves with the release of their debut-album ‘Attaque Surpirse’ in the year 2000. From the kick off of the release a new Belgium 80’s/Electro-motto was born; Vive La Fête! Since then the ‘sexy couple’ have released a number of albums, from which ‘Nuit Blanch’ (2003) was the most successful. June this year will mark the release of the band’s new album, called ‘Disque d’Or’. But the band does not only stand for a feast on your cd or ipod! On stage the charismatic Els Pynoo charms you with her sensual moves, followed by the sometimes hypnotic, other times pounding beats n’ tunes brought to you by Danny Mommens and his ‘merry men’.  So come on and join us for an evening with Vive La Fête; it’s a party for everyone!

The PopHotSpot; there’s music all around you..
Introduced via a collaboration between music venue Paard van Troje and Grote Markt Events, The PopHotSpot is the place to be for some top quality music during The Hague Festivals. Get to see young, up and coming bands and big names in music perform live on stage at the Grote Markt. Coordinated for the third time this year, the PopHotSpot-stage brings you FREE outdoor music from all kinds of genre; pop meets rock, hiphop meets latin, jazz meets singer songwriter. And for the filmfans the Shoot Me Film Festival will present some unique movies.

Everyone who lives in The Hague knows that the Grote Markt is the place where the locals hang out. Located in the city centre and easily accessible by public transport the PopHotSpot stage at the Grote Markt is where you’ll find this year’s summer breeze of live music and a great laid-back atmosphere.
